Pickle Log: Fermented garden cucumbers and green tomatoes  July 22

Here come the cucumbers. Our ever-climbing vines are studded with flowers and teeny-tiny cucumbers, and this morning below the lower leaves we found a few good size specimens ready for picking – and pickling. With only seven cucumbers, we decided to add some green tomatoes we picked up at the farmers market to crock, along with fresh dill and grape leaves from our garden.
